Double the Trouble - Twin pregnancies Double trouble. Nobody in my family has had twins, as you can image it was a big shock when I learned I had two babies growing inside me simultaneously. Remembering the day the doctor told us always brings a smile on my face. As it was the usual ultrasound during my 3rd month, "he said calmly. "Here" the baby's heart, then move to another place, "and this is the baby's heart on the other." As I can not, I still stop breathing for one minute. Although very I was also very pleased fear. I do not know what to expect from pregnancy, childbirth, and oh my god how would I take care of two babies?
Nobody can really prepare you for twins, but I'll try to help some.
Double symptoms.
You're probably wondering what the symptoms of pregnancy, you will. The majority of mothers had twins the same symptoms as a normal pregnancy, just multiply.
Double nausea. As I, many women has increased nausea and vomiting called morning sickness. If you have severe vomiting and can not keep any liquids more than 48 hours you should contact your doctor. They might want to connect to an IV to keep you hydrated. Lack of hydration can lead to premature labor.
Doubling the size. Maybe not exactly double, but certainly more. A symptom that a twin pregnancy is a big belly. Expect to win is about 1 pound per week, or about 40 pounds for a full twin pregnancy. The weight gain for a singleton pregnancy is normally 25 pounds. You can eat healthy especially when the twins transport. You do not want to be too large. Too much weight can push you into pre-term labor. Many women complain that the sleepless nights have been multiplied that when I felt like a million times. Since your stomach will grow much larger than a normal pregnancy, you may expect to be uncomfortable.
Double movement. Yes, you can expect more movement. Many pregnant women with twins experience more movement than normal. You may feel a kick above your belly and at the same time as the one in the back. My four years and loved to lay on my back and just watch the move. "It's an earthquake in the stomach," he said. It is normal that the movement to slow later in your pregnancy, because there will not be much room for them to move. I strongly suggest you watch a film about twin development in the womb. It is really amazing to see them interact. Also remember to get a video of 3D ultrasound done.
Double ultrasound. One of my personal favorites. Ultrasound is used more often in twin pregnancies should be alert for potential problems. An early ultrasound with twins is necessary to establish the date and see if they develop in separate amniotic sacks. If they share the same sac there are more risks and complications. Fortunately, this is a rare occurrence in twins, only about 1% of all twins. Ultrasound is an excellent way to compare the sizes of the twins. A baby may be slightly higher, but not too hopeful. Sometimes, a baby stolen from another.
Double complications. Twin pregnancies are at a much higher risk of preterm delivery. They are also at risk of low birth weight, gestational diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia, and complications of childbirth.
Premature delivery. Premature is nothing less than 37 weeks. Over 60% of all twins premature birth. Most of these premature births occur after 34 weeks, in which case the risks of long term babies are very rare. Deliveries before 34 weeks, especially those before 32 weeks may result in low birth weight and increased risk of permanent disabilities such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, hearing or vision problems. The best moment.
