People in the first initial stage of Alzheimer's disease know? I know they can now do tests for Alzheimer's disease. If done early enough and the doctor discusses with the patient the Alzheimer's patient may be aware that they have, and can get worse?
Yes, I think. in the early stages of the disease, you do not forget things like that you just made yourself a cup of tea a minute ago, if you make another, then you begin to forget other things. if you tell them early enough, you should be able to impersonate them. Hope that helped!
The only definitive test for Alzheimer's disease after their death. Alzheimer's is a speculative diagnosis until they die. There are many dieases that cause the same symptoms of confusion and forgetfulness. Search on prions, for example. CJD is one of human dieases caused by them. It'll scare the crap out of you. Regarding telling them they have Alzheimer's disease, I would say they will know until the mental function declines further. It is a sad disease.
I do not know what this "AD" not in my known have suffered. I have not a suitable person to say something about it.
