Pain is subjective, so a person can be described as "horribly painful" could be "a little uncomfortable" with someone else.
Regarding anesthesia disappears, you can have an interscalene block, which is an injection in the neck that numbs the nerves that go to the shoulder and arm. With this you can also have sedation or light general anesthesia. Talk to your anesthesiologist about your particular preferences.
I recommend getting the block to know if you go to sleep or not, because it will help your pain, post-op, at least for a few hours.
Good luck with your speech, and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Arthroscopy is commonly used to treat various diseases of the shoulder, including subacromial impingement, acromioclavicular arthrosis, rotator cuff, frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis), chronic tendinitis and partial tears biceps tendon, SLAP lesions and instability of the shoulder.
Most people receiving general anesthesia before surgery. This means that you unconscious and unable to feel pain. Or, you can have a regional anesthesia. Your arm and shoulder will be numbed so that you do not feel any pain in this region. If you receive regional anesthesia, you will also be given medication to make you very sleepy during the operation.
I agree with the previous replicants.
Pain is subjective. And anxiety can increase your awareness of pain.
The doctor is supposed to take care of that. Choosing a good doctor, count on him, describe your concerns about pain .................. and then try to relax. I think you help.
