What a good book to read to understand the psychology of birth order? Here is a good book:
Born to Rebel: Birth Order, Family Dynamics, and a creative life: This innovative book is about the influence of birth order in personalities and offers some surprising conclusions. Frank J. Sulloway, a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, undertook the first comprehensive study of birth order in determining personality and social outlook. He produces overwhelming evidence that, because of the hierarchy of developments in families, firstborn children are more likely to be conformists while later-borns tend to be more creative and more likely to reject status quo. It documents how different are the brothers and sisters to each other - a person tends to have more in common with a person chosen at random from their age as a sibling - and explains why differences occur brother. The book sheds new light on the determinants of who we are and our children will be, and it is unlike any research yet published.
