Breast Cancer Rash

Posted on February 21, 2010.
Breast Cancer RashI have a strange rash on my chest. Could it be cancer?

I have a strange rash on my right breast that itches, and hurts when I touch it. I'm only thirteen, but I have already gone through puberty. I have heard of inflammatory breast cancer, and I heard that it can also affect adolescents. Is this what it is? Should I go see a doctor. Currently, I am the only one who knows about it. If you do going to say something useful or enjoyable, please respond to EXCLUDE.

It is doubtful that you've finished puberty as is usually around 16-17. Inflammatory breast cancer is rare and does not affect teenagers. You have a rash. You do not need to be concerned about breast cancer for another 30 years.

It is not uncommon to get intermittent eruptions in this area during your life. Put some hydrocortisone cream (which dries the rash up) on a couple of times a day and see if it clears. If, even with the use of this cream, it continues to worsen, then common sense should tell you it is time to consult your doctor. If she goes with the use of cream, then it was just that - a rash. It should take several days to see a difference.
