My cat has an eye infection and may be allergic to the medication my vet gave him? my cat's eyes are watering and pus out. I see this is an eye infection that we have already gone to the vet for that. He gave us medicine and now my eye looks really angry cats (that's all red) has gradually become reluctant to take medication after a few days, that's when I started noticing that his eyes became red (as if annoyed) I wonder if he is allergic to medication the vet gave him. I administer eye gel in his eyes 3 times a day. Now, I'm just cleaning. Any ideas before you go screaming to the vet?
Well, do not yell at the vet. I do not think the drug is what the cat is allergic. There could be two other factors I can think of off hand, but only a veterinary visit may actually determine the problem.
A possible problem is that the cat may have scratched his cornea, causing more irritation. If this is the case, some drugs may be more irritating and cause more pain and more damage and does not heal.
Another problem could be possible that the infection is not treatable by drugs in particular you has been delivered and another may be necessary. Neither of which is the fault of veterinarians. Sometimes, shit happens and medicine, it is sometimes a trial and error type field.
Good luck. I would call the vet and let them know what is happening. They can only prescribe this medication without an office visit, or they may require a visit to the office to see if more is happening than before. Again, good luck.
Call the vet, do not cry
Sometimes you need another vet, but this animal needs a recheck somewhere
Good Luck
