Chelsea Senior LivingLiving in London?

Since I will spend my last year as an exchange student in England, and since I do not intend to return, I just asked for some advice.
What kind of jobs I'd be able to get to London with several years of experience working in a cafe and a clothing store, and two years volunteering for the church nursery? How would they pay, and I'd be able to live on income? Remember that I saved my money to work, and have about $ 2100 in storage.
What are my best chances of getting a flat? I'd like to live near or in Kensington, Chelsea. How much does a small apartment usually cost per month? When I say small I mean SMALL. Like, two bedrooms and a small bathroom. Or just rent a room. Assuming I do not want to already be in London at the time, I would get an apartment for myself, how could I get one? I do not really want to live in a motel for a month while I search.

The Kensington / Chelsea area is very expensive, probably the most expensive in London. Take a look at http://www.loot.com for property listings and an idea of prices in different areas.

I thought that with your experience you should be able to get some kind of similar employment in London, but I'm not sure about wages, as I've never done this kind of work. I guess the pay is not great, so you may need to think about living somewhere a bit cheaper if you can afford to pay the bills etc.
