MarketplaceChiropractic AssistantPosted on February 2, 2010. Veteran chiropractors chiropractic assistant Shows How to get the claims paid the first time In 1981, Lisa Bilodeau did not even know what chiropractic was. Now, more than 20 years later, she is the President of Chiropractic Success Systems. So how did Bilodeau go from beginner to expert industry?
It all started in 1981 in northern California.
"I needed a job and the unemployment office sent me to a chiropractic office," shares Bilodeau, who is also a columnist for Dynamic Chiropractic. "Needless to say, I had no idea This has been a chiropractor. I could not even pronounce the word. I need a job and they needed a receptionist.
Bilodeau had no idea of this interview would change his life and, through it, the industry of chiropractic. She recalls that one of five doctors in the practice had a thorn in the small model consulting room where they questioned her.
"He took the model and he told me what chiropractic was and what chiropractors do, and what is subluxation," said Bilodeau. "I just got goosebumps. I fell in love with her, right there. I, of course, got the job, and the rest is history."
Bilodeau said she immediately knew she was entering an extraordinary profession.
"I come from a medical setting, then the world of chiropractic was all very foreign to me but I knew in my heart and soul is what health care should be," she explains .
Despite his lack of experience, this initial step was Bilodeau for a trip of more than 20 years of discovery. It is dedicated to doing everything it could to improve the side table of the chiropractic profession. This includes the production of "clean claims" and billing techniques that resolve denials expertise - she now shares with chiropractors and CAs by chiropractic success systems and numerous speeches.
"Probably the biggest mistake in hiring is not an exhaustive testing procedure", says Bilodeau. "The test is very important, and monitoring of references is essential."
"I think a lot of times Chiropractors do not have sufficient documentation, believe it or not," says Bilodeau. "There are many forms required, and that much of what we cover in the seminars.
"Many doctors think they need to cut corners because it will disturb the patient if they need to make certain documents, but it is really essential," she says. "They need to make sure they have all the documents necessary for each new patient who comes to their office so they can avoid problems down the road."
