What is good to eat or put on a dog with skin problems (hot spots, flaky? House recipes? I have an English cocker who is 5 years.
I do not feed my dog regularly processed foods I make his food @ home with fresh ingredients and no processed food, but it still suffers from bad skin problems. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you
My dog has thyroid problems that made him many skin problems. You must have your dog checked by a veterinarian. I had the best chance to feed Nutomax. If I feed him nothing but his skin is terrible.
Well ... I think you should eat a little rice. When my dog was very sick when we got, we fed him rice. Then we have another dog and she was sick. So we fed her rice. They are really better. So the best dog food I think when he is sick of rice. Good luck Report Abuse
Perhaps as simple as a food allergy, and you havent got it right on the kibble - nuggets are not all bad.
I would put him on Nutro Lamb & Rice, or well-being of Atlantic whitefish and sweet potato, and see how it goes - his transition three perday kibble, and watch what happens some time after contact full is made - and also supplemented by a capsule of fish oil each day of the BOF additional omega-3.
It's much better to start with something simple that can work, rather than trying lots of things for a short time you make the recipe uinless same each time, he could make a difference that cloud the results.
I want you to come and make my old man to fish and recipe for oatmeal is the only thing he can digest without dying, I hate cooking for my dog, and never would if I had not do! You will probably find that you can get yours on a regime that does not understand what he is allergic, and it will be fine.
Top allergens to avoid are corn, chicken, beef, soybeans, wheat and dairy products - although any dog can be allergic to a food.
Skin problems are almost always the result of an allergy, the expression of a weak immune system. The passage of appropriate ingredients and the addition of omega -3 's that should slove altogether.

Cattle Autrailian My daughter's dog allergies grass. Nothing the vet recommended that helped a lot. The poor dog was really suffering with huge hot spots last summer for my daughter has done research and found online Nupro & ordered. It eased the suffering of the dog while it continued its use, even during the winter because it is a good "vitamin" as (we live in an area where the grass goes dormant and often snow-covered world December to March / April). It is now July and guess what?! Scarlet is not itching and scratching and Completely no irritation on the skin.
If your dog has dry skin feeding him bacon because he has a lot of fatty acids that are good for skin and coat. You can also try the shampoo Garnier Fructis oats or even shampoo. I use it on my nose Pit Bull blue and he has shed his coat and his skin is moist.
