Aged Care? Hello my nan has recently crashed and broke his pelvis. It will be released from the hospital and will remain with us until it has completely healed. Unfortunately, we can not abandon our jobs, so was looking to employ a home help during the day while we are at work. Does anyone have a rough estimate of costs per week to pay a third party. We live in London so would be useful to get answers from those of you who live in England. Thank you for your time. Would a carer 9-5
Is there Care Manager based at the hospital where your Nan is it treated?
Care managers are social workers who organize care relief for people like you Nan when they approach the date of discharge. Ask the nurse in charge of your room Nan.
If it is not a resident of CM - it should be the one who has the responsibility to discharge the nearest regional office of Social Services.
You need to talk to someone who does this sort of thing every day of their life and know exactly what help is available for Nan in its region, its contribution would be the best service available.
It's one thing for which I had a referral from Ward in the two hospitals that I was responsible.
His many
third person 24 hours in the United Kingdom is around 1300 per week
so I guess it would be just under half
I am American and I know that the cost of a caregiver who is here for $ 10 - @ 12 an hour. Would you be able to find a child care program where you could take it when you're at work? It would be cheaper, I think.
Sorry can not help you with the question though ... you ask about costs. But I meant what about a day center for her. They will look for people in their mini-bus and it will at least meet people and could have his lunch. Contact your social services. Thats what I would do, because their is not how I let my gran mother or go to a nursing home. I worked in a dwelling house social services and I know how they work ... and private businesses are 100 times worse. A day center would not be too bad, at least she would go home every night and I said, it would be some company for her during the day.
Good luck!
There is a carers allowance ... payable to those who are willing to care for someone aged 35 hours per week ....
Ask the social life and see if they can help you.
But if you could find a family friend or someone close to you, they may be able to help in this ... and claim carers allowance.
difficult question. I am an experienced caregiver, live in Sussex, employed by a care home on a "bank" (which means I can choose my hours), waiting to come through a CRB before starting a new job a nursing home. I could easily look after your nan (management have been for 16 years), but you can ask someone from an agency. However, they are very expensive. Home care is something like £ 15 an hour, I think, maybe a little more. Also, I am male, and not all women want a male care. Good luck, but come back to me if you wish. I am a careful, gentle, quiet and very nice, my mother cared for 4 years with cancer until her death, then took care of my grandma and her sister seven years old. Now they are gone. I am currently working with the elderly with dementia and Alzheimer's.
Sorry to hear about your mother, amigo.
You can check with your local agencies for the elderly and associations. We're all just people with a lot of opinions here, for the most part.
When the time comes you need information you can trust to be true is not the most reliable source.
Better for you and your mom
Jack
It will only be paid if she has money.
If no it is not for you to care for her, saying that social workers and you will soon get a caregiver at all.
