extensor tendon injuries ????? I cut my extensor tendon in half, one that controls my .... I pinky surgery and the doctor said it was a "homerun", but I manage full range of motion, box, etc. .. Only time and the therapy can tell, I guess my question is, has anyone had this injury or the like, and if so, what was the final result, a full range of movement back, etc..? ????????
What the doctor says you are more than likely true. Although there are exceptions, there will most likely be a loss of range of motion. The tendon had to be placed together and, in doing so it became shortened. Thus, the closure of the finger most likely will not be complete. As with most activities there should be no problem. Boxing after this type of injury is not recommended, but to say something to someone and what they do are often two different things. Stay with the therapy and working hard and who knows you might be one of those rare people who gets everything back.
