YAG Laser Surgery-Affordable India YAG YAG Laser Eye Surgery
YAG Laser Surgery
Due to the use of a YAG (yttrium-aluminum-garnet) laser to do surgery, hence the term then. A use of a YAG laser surgery is to drill a hole in the iris to relieve increased pressure in the eye of acute angle-closure glaucoma. In this type of glaucoma, there is a sudden (acute) increase in pressure in the anterior (front) chamber of the eye due to sudden blockage of normal circulation of fluid in the eye.
There are other types of YAG laser surgery for the eye (eg, cataracts) and other parts of the body including the skin (for example, to remove birth marks).
Steps Yag laser surgery
YAG laser produces a concentrated beam of light that can focus on the iris or any thick membrane behind the intraocular lens.
This laser beam creates a smooth, thin opening of the desired size in these structures without affecting other sensitive parts of the eye ...
Applications where YAG laser is used:
Posterior capsulotomy: -
Treatment of secondary cataract. This represents 95% of treatment modalities YAG. After cataract surgery with implantation of a posterior chamber lens (IOL) opacification of the posterior capsule remains may occur in some cases ...
Surface cleaning IOL: -
Clusters of cells are sometimes deposited on the surface of intraocular lenses implanted, making the objective disorder or opaque. The YAG laser is used with very low energy to remove these deposits from the surface of the IOL. This seems to occur mainly with the objectives of increasing use of silicone ...
Anterior capsulotomy: -
This request is made for capsulorhexis (opening of the anterior capsule) in the cataract surgery ...
Iridectomy / iridotomy: -
Treatment to lower intraocular pressure when the flow of aqueous humor between the lens and the iris is locked. A hole is created in the iris with the YAG laser. This processing is done when there is a blockage in the flow of aqueous humor between the lens and iris (narrow-angle glaucoma and narrow angle glaucoma Room) ...
Trabeculotomy / Goniotomy: -
Treatment of glaucoma. An opening is created with the YAG laser in the tissues responsible for the release of the aqueous d'humeur, in cases of obstruction or blockage. Trabeculotomy is rarely performed with the YAG laser ...
Removal of adhesions: -
Synechia is an adhesion of the iris surrounding tissue. The YAG laser can treat earlier (accession around the cornea) and posterior (adherence to the goal) synechiae ...
Severing of vitreous strands and membranes: -
Treatment in which vitreous strands and membranes were broken with the help of a YAG laser ...
