SOCIOLOGY OF HEALTH

Introduction

According to the World Health Organization, health can be considered a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being of a person and not the mere absence of disease or infirmity. This means that the definition of health adopted a holistic approach in that it did not assess health in terms of disease or infirmity alone. Health of a person can be taken by the factors that affect the physical, mental and social well-being of a person. What does this mean? This implies that the state of physical fitness, mental and social life of a person is very crucial in determining well-being of an individual. Take the example of a person when one of his closest friends died. The mourning will be left mourning for several days.
