Is it acceptable for residents living in a nursing home in Toronto, drink two glasses of wine and beer or 2? I spoke to residents in a house Nurisng drink during special recreational activities such as: wine and cheese party, dinner of the month, special events, social and so on
Yes they can.
It must be authorized in advance with their primary care doctor.
Once the doctor says what is allowed and what is not, it is written on the patient record so that when events come staff will know what is permitted.
Boy, if these poor people have not earned the right to make a buzz, no.
I would say it is probably correct, as they are not on certain medications, alcohol disavow. In fact, you know, a glass of red wine or beer every day is supposed to be healthy for you. I think it would be a great activity more mature, especially since many older patients may sometimes feel they are treated like children again.
Yes, yes, of course, you do not even have to ask. Besides it tastes good, it is good for you. Enjoy even when there is not a special occasion with a glass of red is something we can all appreciate and know it is good for you.
Cheers!
