How can I make lesson plans for infants and toddlers? I have a job interview for a position as assistant professor in a nursery for infants / toddlers. I have a degree in child psychology and extensive experience in child care. But how can I make lesson plans for infants and toddlers? Is it simply a list of activities? Why these lesson plans for young children? Hourly infant toddlers who have a structured daycare?
As ssistant Professor, I doubt you'll have to do lesson planning ... just help implement the plans. But it's something you should know if you plan to stay in the area.
I find that the center has a bad reputation ... especially with a baby / toddler. In part because parents continue to regard us as baby-sitters "and even some staff members feel the same way. However, we encourage professionalism and recall that for infants and young children are teachers and staff must be fully prepared for each day.
Lesson plans must be organized and each region of the curriculum. A simple Excel spreadsheet will work. Decide which areas will be provided each day. There should be activities planned for the following areas of study: socio-emotional expression, language, literacy, mathematics, science, social and community, creative and physical development. In your projects, it is also good to have a place to note the individualization.
Keep in mind that these activities need not always be realized master. You can place objects in a center for exploration within a program area. Think of all your routines day ... Often, you can integrate the basic concepts or other fields of study in your "daily". Just as mathematics is more than counting literacy is more than ABC and reading a book. Incorportate physical development and literacy playing follow the leader. Did you know that the activity could be regarded as literacy? Children must be able to copy the physical movements before anything copying paper / pencil. This is a "many preschool book activities can be done in an infant class Toddler / or may be simpler. Jump in literacy by Rae Pica.
I also suggest using a theme ... if a theme day or theme of the week. Here are some books that you can check with your local library. If they do not carry them to see if these libraries loan.
The Complete Resource Book for Toddlers and two by two by Pam Schiller (these activities can be simplified for infants)
The Encyclopedia of Infant and Toddler Activities by Kathy Charner
Enjoy!
it is easier than it seems really
It's like a sort of picture and that i use at work, I followed my plan over the word, because that way I knew what I had to do that day. I mean for me, it was because I would do them a month and that way I could to see if I needed something that was not available in the center and ask before. for children, I am not sure, but for toddlers that I think are less than 2 I'll give you an example on one day and maybe that will help you
