Get a job in companies with a psychology degree and social services in Chicago.? I am a student in the city of Chicago. Recently, I had trouble getting a job mere detail in the city, despite having spent two years in college and 1 in the past. I am a double major in Psychology and Human Services but I do not intend to continue my education after the baccalaureate level. Will it be difficult to find a job with just a bachelor's degree in these two areas? Can I start a business without a degree in something like finance or marketing? I want to work in a business / company, preferably in downtown Chicago. Is it possible, people have done this?
Yes. A good friend of mine received a BA in psychology, and although his first job out of college was as a bank teller (who do not require a degree), about a year later, she landed a job company health insurance. So yes, it is possible - a lot of psychology students go into the field of business. I'm not sure about the finances if .... this area seems rather peculiar, but I could easily be wrong about this. I suggest you take some business courses while you are still in college - finance, accounting, marketing, for example, to give you an advantage. \
Also, if you have room in your schedule over the next two years or you can get a counselor to help you track your classes, you may be able to obtain a minor activity. Or, since you are so sure you want to go into business, see the classes you will need for graduation if you change your major or double major companies in business and psychology and the abandonment of Human Services major. Good luck.
