Thoracic Spine Problems

Thoracic Spine ProblemsWill Pilates help with disk problems degernative of the spine? (Reduce pain, increase flexibility?)?

My spine is very rigid in the thoracic region, where I have degenerative disc problems. Can Pilates help me regain flexibility here? I used to enjoy the race, but with this back problem, I can not do. Thank you.

Ryan, Pilate will help you gain a better posture and strength in this area, but not really flexible. The thoracic spine is different from that of the cervical and lumbar areas. The ribs are the reason for that. The ribs form what is essentially a box. The amount of flexibility in this area is limited. Although the scheme will help the whole. You can also try yoga as a way to improve flexibility. Finally, you can try one of these two maneuvers to increase the separation of the spine. We reverse the tables and the other is suspended from a drawbar. The two movements cause a lot of separation in the thoracic region which reduces stress. You can also try soaking station and suspend you because it would also stretch the field.
