Other award winners during the night's festivities included such notable visionaries in the entertainment industry as Wes Craven, Brett Ratner, Tony Shalhoub, Katie Couric, Andy Garcia, Forest Whitaker and Ted Turner.

Dr. Tom Tooma was one of the few to be honored for scientific and medical efforts in the field of vision correction and research.
