Request by teachers or teachers for help? This Fall 2010 I decided to quit my current full time 9-5 job Monday through Friday to take a full course load for my general education and special education, I am now enrolled at (Touro College in Bayshore , New York). My internship teaching students is that the spring of 2011. During the fall semester of 2010, I was thinking about applying for jobs that either a sub or TA. I've never worked in a school before, so I wonder if this is possible or logical for me to do, because, as I will be teaching students this spring, I do not think that be possible if I could do and still work at the school. I do not know how to react in a school telling me that I'll only work a half or four months, know what I mean? Any advice I would greatly appreciate, thank you very much
Depends on what state you are in. In my state, it would not be possible under a license to teach.
In fact, it is a very practical idea, believe it or not. I'm glad you thought of his replacement! Schools must still underwater and it will give you a good start to get a job one day because if you choose, they can give you a good recommendation. I am a full-time substitute, but have taken long positions and had to stop anchoring in other schools to do so. Schools understand. For the most part, they should not have a problem with you only a half of work. Go! You get a good experience, especially if you make a variety of schools (which I highly recommend). So, if a position opens, simply can get because they need you! There really is no down side to replace him, unless you're simply not made for the field of education. But you would not mind if you do not think you could do, would you? :-) Good luck in your efforts!
