9 weeks pregnant .. yeast infection? I wonder if it is more likely for pregnant women GE yeast infections? I've never had one and the doctors office is closed today and I do not think I can handle this discomfort longer. Is medicine yeast infection (which can be purchased in a local drug store) safe to use at this stage of pregnancy? HELP! I can not wait for tmrw! What should I do?
Because your hormone balance is off, it is common to have a yeast infection (s) during pregnancy. It is completely safe to use a counter cream or vaginal cream and topical. Clortrimazole (Gyno-Lotrimin) is generally more effective than miconazole (Monistat), but both creams are safe and work. Choose any number of days you want. One thing you can not take oral medications is a yeast infection (Diflucan) during pregnancy.
Monistat 3 sounds good, but just ask the pharmacist to be sure. They usually know.
Feel better!
Most OB recommend Monistat-3. Nothing more, nothing less. But I want to try yogurt just until I could talk to the doc. This is the safest and most natural thing you can use it there.
I had the same problem at 10 weeks and yes, it happens more often when you are pregnant. Luckily I got it once. I called my OB and they said its okay to use on the counter medicine like Monistat, just do not use the type of day. Everything else is good. Good luck!
yeah I got it, but I will wait for the doc you see first, because she can prescribe something before asking for the test to see if an infection and they could smear and taka based on the results, they will give you the antibiotics, which they did with me to wait because you never know what medication is safe during pregnancy
More common when your pregnant your hormones are everywhere since. I had one on this point in my current pregnancy and was told by my OB to use Monistat-3.
Good luck!
